Nintendo Switch 2 is seeing stronger third-party support than some early reports suggested. According to Mat Piscatella of Circana (formerly NPD), U.S. third-party software sales for Switch 2 have been “far better” than those during the launch window of the original Switch back in 2017.
Stronger Third-Party Sales Than 2017
Contrary to reports circulating earlier today, Piscatella clarified that launch performance for third-party titles has outpaced expectations. In a response on social media, he wrote: “Third-party performance on Switch 2 in the U.S. is far better than it was during the launch window for the first Switch.”

What This Means for Switch 2
Third-party publishers may have more confidence in supporting Nintendo Switch 2 moving forward. With titles like Cyberpunk 2077 leading launch momentum, Nintendo’s next-gen console is showing stronger early legs than its predecessor.
