Marvel Rivals may not be heading to Nintendo Switch 2 just yet. Despite rumors suggesting a release for the platform, Guangyun Chen, director of Marvel Rivals, confirmed in a new interview with Videogamer that the team is still waiting for dev kits from Nintendo.
Switch 2 Dev Kits Still Pending
According to Chen, the development team at NetEase has yet to receive Nintendo Switch 2 development hardware. While they’ve expressed interest in supporting the platform, no decisions can be made until they’ve evaluated the system firsthand.

Marvel Rivals and the Nintendo Ecosystem
Marvel Rivals is a fast-paced hero shooter featuring iconic characters from across the Marvel universe. With the game targeting high-performance platforms like PC and PlayStation 5, a potential Switch 2 version would likely depend on how well Nintendo’s new system supports competitive online play and graphical fidelity.
This update also comes following previous speculation that Marvel Rivals might appear in the second wave of Switch 2 online shooters, alongside other multiplayer-focused titles.
What’s Next for Switch 2 Support?
Nintendo has confirmed that multiple third-party studios already have dev kits in hand, but this case shows that not all publishers are onboard yet. If Marvel Rivals comes to Switch 2, it’ll likely happen later in the lifecycle—once testing confirms viability.
