Share

Two indie titles are buzzing toward Nintendo Switch, with Bee Simulator: The Hive and Big Hops confirmed for release on the platform. Each brings a unique twist—one with strategic colony building, the other a platforming journey starring a frog with a tongue-based moveset.

Bee Simulator: The Hive Expands the Original

Launching in 2025, Bee Simulator: The Hive adds new gameplay systems and endgame content to the original bee sim experience. Players can now build and personalize their own beehive, establishing outposts and unlocking structures to house their expanding colony. Exploration, customization, and resource collection are at the core of this update, which aims to feel fresh for both returning fans and newcomers.

With expanded mechanics and a full map to explore, The Hive turns Bee Simulator into more than just a single-player narrative—it’s now a strategy and management game with aerial bee traversal.

Big Hops: Frog Platforming With a Twist

Big Hops, still without a confirmed release date, is a 3D platformer where you play as Hop, a frog torn from home by a trickster spirit named Diss. The adventure begins with Hop just wanting to return to family—but first, you’ll need to navigate colorful biomes, collect dirigible parts, and grow vegetables to build your own paths.

Movement is central in Big Hops, using a dynamic tongue-based traversal system reminiscent of classic mascot platformers. The game blends puzzle solving with exploration and storytelling, wrapped in cozy visuals and a curious, woodland world.

Indie Games Keep the eShop Fresh

With titles like Bee Simulator: The Hive and Big Hops joining the indie wave on Switch, Nintendo’s eShop continues to thrive as a space for experimentation, creature-led games, and player-driven creativity. More release info is expected soon.
