The reveal came subtly during a recent Giant Bomb EX video covering System Shock 2 Remastered. According to hosts and developer commentary, Nightdive Studios is already deep into development on a new title, with full details expected to drop at this year’s Quakecon event.

While no official hints were given as to what the game might be, fans are speculating based on Nightdive’s past portfolio—known for respectful and technically polished revivals of classic first-person shooters and horror titles like Turok, Quake II, and System Shock.

What Could Be Next?

Nightdive’s remasters often set a gold standard for preservation. With Quakecon traditionally hosting retro surprises and FPS community reveals, speculation ranges from a Blood II overhaul to a potential Heretic or Hexen revival—both long-requested by fans of ’90s PC gaming.
