What Makes the Signature Edition Different?

While technically a repackaging of Farming Simulator 25, Signature Edition is optimized specifically for Switch 2. It includes 400 machines across 150 real-world brands, 25 crop types, and three distinct regions — including maps inspired by North America, Europe, and East Asia.

The announcement mirrors what Giants Software did in 2017 with the original Farming Simulator Switch Edition. But this time, Switch 2’s improved hardware opens the door to features that were previously cut — like faster loading, higher texture fidelity, and potential support for ModHub.

Release Window and Third-Party Strategy

Farming Simulator Signature Edition is expected to release between December 2025 and March 2026 — placing it among the earliest third-party exclusives on Switch 2. It will follow launch-adjacent games like Fast Fusion and Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster.

Given the franchise’s history on Nintendo systems — with just three entries since 2017 — it’s likely this Signature Edition will serve as the platform’s main farming sim for years to come. That said, the Switch 2 is also home to My Time at Evershine and is rumored to receive a new Animal Crossing before 2028.

Personal Take: Farming Simulator is one of those rare franchises that quietly shaped a genre. Giants Software knows its audience, and this version — with Switch 2’s power finally behind it — might be the first time Nintendo players get a no-compromise version of the experience.
