Level-5 has officially canceled the physical release of Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time for Western territories. The game will still launch digitally in North America and Europe on July 25, 2025, but boxed copies will remain exclusive to Japan for now.

This follows weeks of speculation after Western retailers delisted the title. Level-5 has not shared an official reason, but fans suspect limited print demand, regional logistics, or Nintendo’s shifting distribution priorities may have played a role.
Fantasy Life i Physical Release Canceled, But Digital Launch Remains
The good news? The game itself is still coming. Fantasy Life i continues the life-sim/RPG hybrid experience with new professions, time-travel mechanics, and a charming art style that recalls the 3DS original.
In Japan, physical copies are already in production and include a small collector’s booklet.
Western players, however, will need to stick with digital — or import a physical Japanese copy (which includes English text but lacks localized ESRB/PEGI labels).
Final Thoughts
It’s disappointing to see another niche RPG go digital-only in the West — especially one with a dedicated fanbase that helped revive the series. But at least the wait is nearly over, and the island of Reveria still awaits.
